Pictures and Videos from the Jounieh Fireworks Show 2017 (And not so many critics)
June 27, 2017 by AlainThis Saturday, few days after the beginning of the 2017 summer. It’s that time of the year that we were all waiting for, the Jounieh Summer Festival 2017 and the biggest yearly Fireworks show in Lebanon.
As usual me and many other amateur or professional photographers line up in Jounieh, Adma, Ghazir, Haret Sakher, Harissa, etc… to take that perfect shot of the fireworks that would go viral on social media.
Before I share with you my photos, I would like to say a few words… However, if you do not want to listen to my nagging just skip the next part and scroll down straight to the photos and videos.
- Honestly, in the past the fireworks lineup felt more beautiful because it spread all over the bay and this year it felt like there was a line cut in the middle. I know that Jounieh municipality is only responsible of that part, but the bay itself is called: Jounieh bay, not Ghazir bay and not Maameltein bay, etc…
- Because it was condense, at moments it felt like gun shots and not like fireworks, they could have made it 15 or 20 minutes if they waited a little between the batches
- It felt like so much money wasted, after 2 or 3 minutes no fireworks were seen because of the huge toxic cloud that immersed, why not invest in more eco-friendly water laser show?
- The toxic cloud itself covered the coast from Tabarja until Zouk for few hours after the show because there was not too much wind (but we had so much pollution anyway, so it is not as if a fireworks toxic cloud would hurt us right?)
- From the other side, Jounieh, Ghazir and Maameltein can combine efforts to create a clean public beach in the area. It’s sad to see such a beautiful bay wasted or open only for private resorts
