July 08, 2019 by thecooketteVegetable Stuffed Vine Leaves🌸 Step by step pictures and a video on how to roll the leaves 😉 Ingredients🌸 500 g of vine leaves 1 ½ cups of Egyptian rice 2 bunches of parsley 1 bunch or 1 cup of mint leaves 2 onions 3 tomatoes 1/4 cup of tomato coulis(optional) 3 cups of lemon juice 1 cup of oil (vegetable or olive) Salt 3-4 potatoes 1 cup of mini carrots or 2 carrots Method🌸 -Soak the leaves in boiling water to release all the salt and reduce their cook time -Soak the rice for 1 hour -Meanwhile, chop the parsley, mint, onions and tomatoes -Cut the stems of the leaves using a pair of scissors -Add the rice to the vegetables along with 2 cups of lemon juice, the oil, the salt and the tomato coulis -Roll the leaves as shown in the video, leave 3-4 leaves unrolled and don't discard the rest of the sauce -Peel the potatoes and the carrots and cut into wedges -in a shallow cooking pot, place the unrolled leaves at the bottom, followed by the carrots then the potatoes -Stack the grape leaves close to eachother -Place a heavy plate on top, add the rest of the juice and 1 cup of lemon juice, if you need more liquid to cover the leaves add water -Bring to a boil then lower the heat and keep cooking until the rice is cooked and the leaves are soft, that is 3-4 hours, add water everytime the leaves are not covered in liquid -Flip into a large shallow plate Bon appetit🌸 #thecookette #montreal #canada #lebanese #lebanon #foodie #foodblogger #foodphotography #photography #delicious #like #share #follow #foodblogs #foodielife #eat #eats #laval #beirut #wara23enab #dolma #ورق_عنب #stuffedvineleaves #vineleaves #dinner #مطبخ #اكلات
