14 100% Free Beaches in Lebanon for Summer 2017
June 19, 2017 by AlainSummer is here and what is best than spending the day on the beach swimming or tanning.
In theory and in Lebanese law, all beaches should be public and free for all; no one is allowed to controll the beach part of a certain land. But unfortunately in Lebanon, laws get bend, people seem to forget their rights, what's wrong become the norm and suddenly you find that people get surprised when they see you fighting for your own right, you see them living in the wrong like it is the wonderful life they’ve been looking for.
Another sad thing that we The Lebanese People are responsible of, is the garbage that fill most of these beaches. I really do not understand why should we leave this beer bottle on the beach when we leave. Why is it fun to break it and leave the glass piece for someone else to cut their foot? Why don’t we clean our garbage before we leave? How hard would it be? Just take a bag with you fill in everything you consume and put it in the nearest garbage can. No government to blame, no succleen, nothing just OURSELVES.
It is sad when you see an amazing beach, crystal clear water, and then, bottles, cans, garbage, tissues everywhere! I really wish that Lebanese people wake up one day and start to realize that public places are like their home.
Luckily it’s not all sad and tears as some municipalities seems to remember the people’s rights to access the beach and there are also some places that are still forgotten and away from the eyes of the greedy corporations that build those huge resorts.
Below you will find the list of some of the best 100% free beaches in Lebanon listed from South to North Lebanon along with GPS locations that would open Google maps and get you there when needed.
