Legend says that the church was built in the 4th century by two sailors that found themselves in peril on a stormy night. The Holy Virgin appeared to them as a light in the sky and guided them to the shore. As a sign of gratitude the two sailors carved a cave and dedicated it to the Virgin Mary, and called the shrine, Our Lady of Light.🙏🏻⛪️ 💡 🌊💨
