I've heard many stories about my grandfather, my mother's dad, but the two... I've heard many stories about my grandfather, my mother's dad, but the two that resonate with me are his slow eating habit and his strength and generosity. I barely remember him as he passed away when I was quite young. It is said that you are remembered for your deeds, good or bad, long after you are gone and I'm proud that in my grandfather's, case he will always be remembered for his good deeds. As far back as I can remember I was told I was just like my grandfather when it came to eating. He would spend at least an hour on each meal, chewing his food really well whilst enjoying every bite. Till this day, whether at home, at a party or a restaurant I still live up to that comparison of my grandfather. Always the last to finish my meal. I have been told that "burghul abanadoura" cracked wheat on tomatoes was his favourite  dish. This is a nutriously humble dish filled with flavors of the East. To honor his memory I make this meal at least once a month. When we sit down to eat it, our meal prayer is alway "may you rest in peace grandpa."
